Jodi Picoult is the best selling author of 16 emotional, sensitive, and amazingly written novels. She recieved the 2003 New England Book Award for all her work and the American Library Association's Alex Award for My Sister's Keeper. Jodi Lynn Picoult was born on May 19, 1966 and raised in Nesconset on Long Island, New York. She studied writing at Princeton University and graduated in 1987. Immediately after graduating, she worked many miscellaneous jobs, such as editing at a texbook publishing company and working as an 8th grade english teacher. Later on, she earned her master's degree in education while attending Harvard. Picoult's books often focus on topics of love, family, relationships, and deep human emotions. Jodi is now married to Tim Leer and has three children: Sammy, Kyle and Jake; plus a bunch of pets. They live together in Hanover, New Hapshire. For My Sister's Keeper, I think Picoult's philosophy is: Live your life to the fullest, because you never know when you are going to die.
